Android 12 Updates: It could Bring Double Tap on Back Gesture Feature

If things go well, Android 12 will be released this year. According to the latest update, Android 12 can bring one Double tap on back gesture support, Which will come in Android 11 OS. The double-tap feature allows Pixel users to sync to Google Assistant and can also use it for various tasks.

At the time of Android 11’s developer preview, a double tap was seen behind the phone’s gesture. However, this feature did not appear in the official version of Android 11.

Double tap on the back Google Assistant opens, plays media, dismisses timers, or snoozes alarms. It appears that the feature will be a part of the new software, but no statement has yet been made by Google. But, some leaks have shown that this feature is Codename “Columbus” Android 12 will have a part. It is still unclear whether this feature will be available for all phones or only for Pixel phones.

According to reports, the double-tap feature was announced on Pixel 4 phones to replace the Edge Squeeze-Action, which was not intended for Pixel models and was discovered to work properly. There may be some glitches that need to be fixed to make the feature correct.

Now, it seems that all changes have been made, and the double-tap feature can be activated with a firm on the back of the phone. If you are not interested in using the feature, you can disable it.

We can see a developer preview of Android 12 in February. The update may also include Wi-Fi sharing as a new feature.
